Design Manager - Placemaking
The Design Manager will, working alongside the Regeneration and Design Directors, oversee the detailed co-ordination of design and engineering solutions across a range of House masterplan projects on sites across the portfolio. The Design Manager will have excellent knowledge of design and construction project processes and an up-to-date and thorough knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation.
The role will include close liaison with, and management of, external design teams from the development of concept designs to the production of construction information. The candidate will be a strong team player and the role will involve collaborating with Development Managers to assist in exploring design options and engaging in a continuous process of refinement value management. The Design manager will work closely with our contracting arm, Urban Splash Construct, on the preparation and co-ordination of a suite of key landscape design details and standard specifications, as well as liaising with the modular business, Urban Splash Modular, on a series of interface details and principles for modular homes landing on site.

Qualifications and Experience
— Great organisational and inter-personal skills
— A good eye for detail and strong technical knowledge
— Evidence of having worked on the delivery of high quality contemporary residential projects
— A degree or relevant qualifications in a relevant construction discipline such as architecture, engineer-ing, construction management, or similar
— The candidate should possess the ability to contribute to design team meetings positively, and authorita-tively
— They should be able to help steer projects to successful outcomes in a timely manner
— Possess commercial awareness and have experience working within budget constrained projects
— Contribute to and manage masterplanning design processes (along with PM&DM), working closely with teams towards well-resolved, co-ordinated, and accurate information from internal stakeholders and external consultants
— Liaise both with the ‘upstream’ land team and the ‘downstream’ delivery team on technical require-ments for project information flow
— Work with Design Director and Regeneration Director to translate strategic design approach for sites into detailed resolution of projects in readiness for planning submission and beyond to handover to delivery team
