‘Live well by design’ is our manifesto, it’s our promise to the people who live in our homes and neighbourhoods.

But what exactly does it mean and how does ‘good design’ shape the way we live?

In our latest blog, we answer these questions focussing on the types of design that make us feel good, and the importance of the relationship between our homes, the people who live inside them, and the wider neighbourhoods they belong to.

Row House is our ultra-modern take on a classic terraced home.

It’s efficiently designed with tons of room for storage and has our signature oversized windows and light-flooded, open-plan space on the ground floor.

The homes you see in this CGI – with modern grey, profiled metal façades – are the brand-new, two-bedroom Row House homes at Port Loop, Birmingham.

They feature 79 sq m of space across two storeys, a ground floor W/C as well as the large family bathroom, a private terrace, access to the residents' garden, and allocated parking.

We caught up with founder and creative director of the Urban Splash Group, Jonathan Falkingham MBE, to ask what he wishes more people knew about modular homes in the UK.

Jonathan said: “If you’re buying a brand-new car, you wouldn’t want to see it being built in a field, in the rain, with workers eating fish and chips in the passenger’s seat while it’s being built.

“With our homes you get the reassurance that they’re being built inside our clean, dry factory, with meticulous precision, in a controlled environment.”
