What we wish more people knew about modular homes
Here are two key points to think about if you’re considering making the move to modular
Within the UK context, there’s a challenge around the concept of modular architecture and design.
Familiar phrases like ‘bricks and mortar’ suggest stability and tradition – leaving many suspicious of exactly how reliable modern technologies and modular design are when it comes to building new homes.
At House by Urban Splash, all of our homes are modular – they’re modern, they’re built off-site in our factory in Alfreton using modern methods of construction, and they’re carefully delivered to our neighbourhoods, module by module (or storey by storey).
But, although modular homes have been around for decades in the UK, the concept can still seem alien to many Brits looking for their brand-new home.
We caught up with founder and creative director of Urban Splash Group Ltd, Jonathan Falkingham MBE, to ask what he wishes more people knew about modular homes in the UK.
Here are Jonathan’s two key points to think about if you’re considering making the move to modular.
