How to live well
‘Live well by design’ is our promise to our customers, partners and communities. It is simple to say but hard to deliver. It’s a commitment to design, wellbeing, choice and sustainability.
To help us prioritise the things that really matter we have five core principles that guide us in designing homes and neighbourhoods where everyone can live well.
02 - Live well by accident
A place to be active at all ages
Better design of our cities and neighbourhoods can provide easy access to healthier routines for all ages. More walking and cycling, more time spent outdoors, in the park, on the water and in the garden. How our environment is designed and how it is connected can make a difference to whether we are playing out or stuck indoors, whether it’s easier to jump in the car or hop on a bike. We can live well with less effort by making active options the easy choices. Everyday activity that happens without thinking allows us to live well by accident while going about our daily lives.
04 - Live how you like
Configurable homes for all kinds.
We believe all homes should to be light and spacious so big windows and high ceilings come as standard, beyond that our homes should be what you make them. They should be a place that you can make our own, where you can feel at ease and live in comfort. For many of us the way we live and work is changing, we need to face the change, with a range of homes suited to modern life that can be configured by you and then adapt to your changing needs. And a range of options for you means a range of options for all, leading to a diverse neighbourhood where all kinds can live well at all ages.

05 - Love thy neighbourhood
A place to belong and feel at home
A successful neighbourhood fulfills more than our housing needs, it should be a great place to be with lots to do and plenty of reasons to stay and play local. A successful neighbourhood offers us balance, privacy when we want it but also community when we need it. And while we can’t build a ready-made community from scratch, good design can create the perfect conditions to grow your own with generous space for local life and active support for local enterprise. A great neighbourhood is a place where we can be a local, a place we can belong to and where every arrival feels like a homecoming.
